Website Appeal
Thank you for agreeing to participate in this online survey. If at any point you do not wish to continue simply close the browser window or navigate away.

The survey takes around 20 minutes to complete. The time you take to complete the survey is not being recorded, so take as long as you need. Also be aware that due to the nature of the survey presentation completing it can become tedious. Incomplete responses are of no use to our study so please persevere to the end. A progress bar has been included at the bottom of each question page so you can see how far you have got.

By agreeing to participate in the survey you are eligible to be entered into a Prize Raffle where you could win £50 of Amazon vouchers. To be entered into the Prize Raffle please enter your email address at the end of the survey or email craig@buetc.com.

The purpose of the survey is to capture ratings on website appeal. You will be presented with screen shots of 50 webpages 1 at a time. Below each screen shot you will find some buttons where you can provide your appeal rating. Please note that depending on the size of your screen you may need to scroll down to see the entire screen shot and the buttons.

You will be rating each website on a scale of 1 to 5 where:
  • 1 is 'not at all appealing'
  • 5 is 'very appealing'.
Important: please provide a rating on the appeal of the website and not its content.

You will also be asked to indicate your familiarity with each website. This will also be on a scale of 1 to 5 where, as a guide:
  • 1 is 'never seen this website before'
  • 2 is 'have seen this website once before'
  • 3 is 'have seen this website a few times'
  • 4 is 'browse this website regularly but not frequently;
  • 5 is 'browse this website regularly and frequently'
Prior to this, we will collect some demographic information.
